Nov 23, 2016 · Since the issue only occurs with the pcl6 driver I would try the postscript driver and if none is available for your printer, then download the universal postscript driver and use it for your printer.

Jul 26, 2016 · There may be a more up-to-date driver available, or (depending on the printer model) you may perhaps be able to switch to a driver using a different Page Description Language (i.e. PCL5 or PostScript instead of PCL6 (the 'marketting' name for the PCL XL PDL)).

Oct 15, 2016 · Also check the setting of the document you are trying to print. Make sure the paper size is correct and all other items look correct. I have seen issues when an emailed pdf had settings that did not match the default properties of the driver and caused pcl xl errors.

Feb 25, 2023 · During the install, there was a dialog box with two options for HP Universal Printing PCL 5 -- I picked the second one (v6.1.0) -- screenshot below. After the install, I was able to print 3 documents without power-cycling the printer.
