Feb 16, 2019 · Personally, I think the TR6 hardtop is better suited to it, all squared off like the body below it. The prototype TR6 pictured above is a TR4A in mockup; nothing I've read suggests TRIUMPH ever intended that top for TR6 production, and I reckon the antiquated and tedious Surrey top design didn't help that prospect ( think side curtains ).

Oct 8, 2016 · My first TR6, a '69er bought in October '79, came with the factory hardtop attached. I ran it all through that winter & enjoyed the snugness and generally civilised nature of the car. February arrived, a fit of enthusiasm followed & on went the soft top.

Jun 17, 2020 · TR6 owners must be getting old, hardtops are slowly coming back in fashion, and I thought I was the only one, you do not see many TR6’s with hardtops although you see a quite a lot of Surrey tops on TR4/5. I think the TR6 hardtop is a very good looking hardtop, but I wish Triumph had made a Surrey for the TR6 as well.
