Swami Anand (Shri Himmatlal Ramchandra Dave) was born on 8th September, 1887 at Shiyani village of Surendranagar District of Gujarat State. At the age of ten, he left home in opposition to marriage and due to an offer by a monk to show him God. Later, he became a monk with the Ramkrishna Mission.
