The plan for this gun is to register it and have the barrel cut down, repark and add wood. Don't know that I want to cut a factory rifle-sighted barrel. Can I buy a second barrel to be sacrificed?

Dec 21, 2013 · On the barrel it says m-87 deerslayer featherlight chambered for 2 3/4" and 3" king ferry new York. I sent the serial number to Ithaca via email and they replied that it was in fact not an 87 because the serial number would begin with 87.

Dec 27, 2016 · Still using an Ithaca Model 87 for deer hunting. The gun features a 25 inch rifled barrel and fixed receiver. The model is Id'd with a MAG prefix on the SN and a gold trigger. Mine has a checkered Monte Carlo. These were built in Kings Ferry for a couple years.
