Mar 1, 2010 · Personally, I would keep the gravel, get a few pound of "GARF Grunge" to fire up the sand, get rid of the UG filter, get a good skimmer, and a couple of power heads to keep the water flowing. Of course, that's the safe route. If you have some specific ideas to try out, go for it. On a side note...The Garf Grunge I mentioned IS worth looking into.

Apr 9, 2008 · I've been looking up on how to make aragocrete, but they obviously aren't alive and need to be seeded. Is there a way to make aragocrete by crushing bigger pieces of the garf grunge and mixing it in with the aragonite and concrete to make it pre-seeded?

Mar 30, 2004 · Does anyone use GARF Grunge as a substrate? It is basically rocks and sand and coral bits mixed together and has worms, sponges, crabs, etc. already in it. I love the look of it but I hope it doesnt have pyramid snails? I can run by any time and get some, but I just wanted an opinion of it first....
