The subscriber location function, or SLF is a function within an IP multimedia subsystem that provides information about the home subscriber server (HSS) that is associated with a particular user profile. It is generally implemented using a database.

SLF Subscription Locator Function In an IMS network where multiple separate instances of the HSS can exist, an SLF is used by various network nodes in order to ascertain which HSS holds the subscriber profile of a particular IMS subscriber.

The present document specifies the stage 3 protocol and data model for the Nlmf Service Based Interface. It provides stage 3 protocol definitions and message flows, and specifies the API for each service offered by the LMF. The 5G System stage 2 architecture and procedures are specified in 3GPP TS 23.501 [2] and 3GPP TS 23.502 [3].

Unstructured Data Storage Function (UDSF) is a part of Oracle's 5G UDR solution. It supports storage and retrieval of unstructured data by any 5G NF. The specifications of UDSF are presently not defined by 3GPP.

Oracle Provisioning Gateway is implemented as a cloud-native function. It offers a rest interface for SLF data provisioning. It relays the request received by the provisioning system to multiple 5G UDRs. It then consolidates the response received from each UDR and sends back the final response to the provisioning system.

It provides transfer of (QoS) policy and charging rules from PCRF to policy and charging enforcement function (PCEF) in the PDN GW.
