Mar 29, 2025 · The file WindowsStartButtonSmall.png has 36x36 icons, which were a bit too big for my taskbar, so I resized them to 32x32 and shifted them up by one pixel. This works well on my laptop with Windows 8.1 and a 1366x768 screen. The file is WindowsStartButtonSmaller32x32.png - just right click and save it. Thanks for this program!

Mar 15, 2025 · Windows 7 doesn't have icons for those but Windows 8's Ribbon does have for many commands. Classic Shell doesn't have its own icons, but uses the ones from Windows. There are no icons in Windows for back/forward, those are images.

Mar 30, 2025 · The problem is even though the taskbar background can be skinned, the window buttons can't be made to look like Windows 7/8.1. So far, I only know of StartIsBack++ which can theme the taskbar to make it look like Windows 7/8.1.
