Von 12. bis inklusive 21. April 2025 bauen die Wiener Linien im Bereich Keplerplatz neue Weichen für die U1 ein. Während dieser Arbeiten kann die U1 zwischen Südtiroler Platz/Hauptbahnhof und Reumannplatz nicht fahren. Sie ist geteilt und verkehrt in diesen beiden Abschnitten: zwischen Leopoldau und Südtiroler Platz/Hauptbahnhof

Die U5 soll die erste vollautomatische U-Bahn Wiens werden. Die Strecke soll vom Karlsplatz über die Stationen Museumsquartier, Volkstheater, Rathaus, Altes AKH (neu), Arne-Carlsson-Park (neu), Michelbeuern-AKH bis zur neuerrichteten Endstation Elterleinplatz in Hernals führen.

As with any new system, operation with the platform screen doors must first become familiarised with real passenger operations. As a precautionary measure, Wiener Linien is therefore deploying more staff in the technical and service areas on the U2 Stammstrecke for the first few weeks.
