Let's talk about that speaker. When I started planning this project, I really balked at the idea of putting a super-expensive driver in it. It just seemed…too overboard. Maybe I'm just cheap, but most combos and practice amps don't have top-of-the-line drivers in them, so I wondered if I was just encountering online speaker snobbery.

You mentioned that you used a paper towel on your finish - I highly recommend that you do not do that; use a soft microfiber polishing cloth, and I believe you started sanding a bit too early, but I'll bullet point what I did (this is off the top of my head):
