Set in the 24th century, the series follows the adventures of the crew of the Starfleet-managed Bajoran space station Deep Space Nine. In this episode, the Deep Space Nine crew, led by Captain Benjamin Sisko, are challenged to a game of baseball against an all-Vulcan crew.

Instead it morphed into a story about Rom’s redemption, Sisko’s ego, and finding joy in unexpected places. The haughty Vulcan jerk can call it “manufactured triumph” (saving that one for a future fantasy baseball team name, btw) all he wants but no one cares. We wondered a bit if Vulcans would really like baseball.

Dec 31, 2021 · My partner skipped this episode when he watched ds9 for the first time and has never seen it because he thought it would be dumb. It is dumb, and I love it. Episode is definitely a fancy dan. Love this episode for supporting my headcanon that everyone hates vulcans. "To manufactured triumph! Hear, hear!"

We have seen some fairly expansive areas in the DS9 holosuites. I bet Quark would have a couple of full room sized holosuites for big parties and then a few smaller intimate ones for singles/couples. No reason to power huge areas for one person.

Nov 24, 2020 · Sisko didn't win the game of baseball but he won the game of living well. At the end it was the Niners who had fun, who bonded and came closer. Sisko even got over his petty rivalry — something the Vulcan captain couldn't.
