May 1, 2020 · On my SIM800 R14.18 it works fine. The other one, SIM800 R13.08 reports that SSL is not supported. I will add some test on the library to be sure that the version issue is spotted quickly ( #11 ).

Jan 11, 2019 · In reporting SSL support, TinyGSM just asks the SIM800 if it supports it (AT+CIPSSL=?). I'd never thought to truth-check that response. When attempting to use SSL, we try to set the SSL before opening the connection (AT+CIPSSL=1) whether or not we know it's supported and continue with the connection based on that response.
