RDRAM - Wikipedia
Rambus DRAM (RDRAM), and its successors Concurrent Rambus DRAM (CRDRAM) and Direct Rambus DRAM (DRDRAM), are types of synchronous dynamic random-access memory (SDRAM) developed by Rambus from the 1990s through to the early 2000s. The third-generation of Rambus DRAM, DRDRAM was replaced by XDR DRAM.
Rambus - Wikipedia
Rambus's technology was based on a very high speed, chip-to-chip interface that was incorporated on dynamic random-access-memory (DRAM) components, processors and controllers, which achieved performance rates over ten times faster than conventional DRAMs.
RDRAM Memory Architecture - Rambus
RDRAM®, Rambus’ first mainstream memory architecture, has been implemented in hundreds of millions of consumer, computing and networking productsfrom leading electronics companies including Cisco, Dell, Hitachi, HP, Intel, Panasonic, SiS, Sony, Texas Instruments, and Toshiba.
Cryogenics and accelerators push DRAM limits - Rambus
In addition to highlighting the upcoming DDR5 specification, Fogarty also discusses potential methods of overcoming DRAM thermal limitations in the data center, such as cryogenic, or cold computing.
Scaling DRAM Technology to Meet Future Demands: Challenges …
This tutorial will describe DRAM architecture in detail, covering the similarities and differences between different DRAM technologies. Standard scaling techniques will be highlighted along with challenges that the industry is currently facing.
What is RDRAM? - Rambus DRAM: Uncovering Facts & Burying Rumors
May 15, 2000 · According to Rambus, they design high speed interfaces, not a new memory technology. In essence, that's what makes RDRAM what it is, the high speed interface that connects the RDRAM module to the...
variants on the basic single-data-rate (SDR) SDRAM. These include double-data-rate (DDR) SDRAM, direct Rambus DRAM (DRDRAM), and DDR2, which is under development by a number of manu-facturers. DDR signalling is simply a clocking enhancement where data is …
RDRAM Definition - What was RDRAM? - TechTerms.com
Sep 12, 2024 · RDRAM, developed by Rambus Inc., was a high-performance type of computer memory introduced in the late 1990s. Its high-speed bus offered significantly faster data transfer speeds compared to SDRAM (Synchronous DRAM).
V. Cuppu, B. Jacob, B. Davis, and T. Mudge. A performance comparison of contemporary DRAM architectures. ISCA 1999.
In this report, we first discuss current DRAM technology as well as the general memory system architecture and we isolate an interesting set of design spaces. We show how PDM deals with these design spaces and show how to implement an existing DRAM interface using PDM.
