Sep 11, 2022 · PS3 Slim is the best combination of reliability and performance. Superslim uses less power but feels very cheap in comparison to Slim. PS3 Fat is the most iconic and collectible of course, but tends to be hard to maintain and is the least reliable.

Apr 10, 2021 · My PS3 Slim's Samsung 860 EVO SSD is 6.8 mm tall, has a standard 2.5" SATA form factor, and fit perfectly with no problems. I'm glad I got it, just wish I'd done so sooner since the improvement in seek times makes a huge difference for loading/saving savegames, crossing boundaries on a game's map, and so forth.

Jan 19, 2023 · Well the slim obviously is the nicer looking console. Me personally I never bought a PS3 until late back in 2013. I have a super slim. The super slim doesn't look as great and it looks cheaper. There is one feature I do like though. I love the sliding disc tray. I think it's pretty neat. Plus less electronic parts means less things can go wrong.

Nov 13, 2023 · I just bought this PS3 Slim 2004B about a week ago and repasted (only on top of IHS) and CFW'd it. Idle in XMB is about 60-62°C on both chips. It reaches 70°C and 75°C in GTA V after an hour, with spikes to 78°C on the RSX.

Aug 7, 2018 · Yes the original PS3 runs PS2 games pretty much perfectly because there's a complete PS2 on the motherboard,the components that allowed for very good PS1 compatibility on the FAT PS2 are not present in the chips that are on the PS3 motherboard because the PS2 chips on the OG PS3 are taken from the late slim models that relied on pure PS1 ...

Aug 17, 2018 · The only reason I would ever consider a fat PS3 over a slim would be if we were talking about one of the first-gen versions with backwards-compatibility support for PS2. If it is not one of these models then the advantages of the slims (and super slims) far outweigh the fats.
