Nita is an adolescent bear. She is the childhood friend and later wife of Kenai and also the sister-in-law of Sitka and Denahi . Nita was born as an Inuk human.

Nita's transformation is an event in which the Great Spirits transform Nita into a bear so she can be with Kenai. Though the spirits are initially summoned by Koda to turn Kenai back into a human, Kenai refuses out of devotion to Koda.

Beast and Beauty: Subverted with Nita and Kenai. Kenai is a bear (a literal beast), and Nita is his childhood friend. In the end, she transforms into a bear (courtesy of the spirits) so they can be together.

Nita tells Kenai that ever since the incident when they were kids, she has developed a fear of water.
