Feb 11, 2022 · What I learned, and in my opinion, if you are restoring your car to an OEM correct level for 90% of the shows, finishing the underside of your 65 GTO with a satin black will satisfy the judges. Whether that satin is 40% or 50% is up to you and the paint used.

Apr 23, 2005 · I used the same light silver paint as my Rally II wheels. The paint is avail from Year One. If you have hideaways, then the background on the doors are flat black. Spray them all black first, then tape off all the holes, paint silver. It works great. Judges use flat black on the egg crate grille part while the outside edges are silver.

I think they sprayed matte black on it during the “restore” nearly thirty years ago. Nov 27, 2016 · One of those was really light, no seams at all. The light one I had, was real easy to spot. To verify yours is not an early reproduction, which were matte black finished fiberglas, it would be nice to know exanctly what this rear spoiler weighs, & it would help if you could highlight all the seams on the bottom.
