The M35 2½-ton cargo truck is a long-lived 2½-ton 6×6 cargo truck initially used by the United States Army and subsequently utilized by many nations around the world. Over time it evolved into a family of specialized vehicles.

The 2 + 1 ⁄ 2-ton, 6×6 truck was a standard class of medium duty trucks, designed at the beginning of World War II for the US Armed Forces, in service for over half a century, from 1940 into the 1990s.

The Truck, Cargo, 2½-ton, 6×6, M35 is a famous softskin heavy vehicle of the cold war, with 200k manufactured until 1980 in three main versions, still in service today.

Jun 3, 2013 · This information taken from David Doyle's book, Standard Catalog of U.S. Military Vehicles - 2nd Edition: The M36 was an extended bed (and frame) version of the M35 cargo truck. They did not have troop seats but the side racks resembled the troop seat models.

Powered by a REO Continental OA331 6-cylinder gasoline engine with 127hp and either a 4 or 5 speed transmission. The M36 cargo hauler is the same build as M35 except the cargo bed is 16ft (4.8m) long instead of 8ft. (2.4m). The first upgrade to the M35 is the A1.
