The M113A4 armored medical evacuation vehicle (AMEV) is a U.S. Army variant of a M113 armored personnel carrier (APC) made by United Defense (now part of BAE Systems) modified to function as a battlefield emergency medical evacuation (medevac) vehicle.

On May 5, 2024, the medics of the 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division received the Army’s new combat vehicle, the Armored Multi-Purpose Vehicle (AMPV), which is set to replace the M113 Armored Personnel Carrier as part of the Army's modernization initiative.

The AMPV replaces the M113 Family of Vehicles and delivers enhanced survivability and force protection; and flexibility to incorporate future technologies and the Army’s Network.
