Rifleman Khan was a German Shepherd Dog who was lent to the War Office to become a military dog during World War II, and was a Dickin Medal recipient. He was assigned to the Cameronians (Scottish Rifles) and took part in the Battle of the Scheldt.

Jul 9, 2020 · After training, Khan became War Dog 147, specializing in locating explosives and assigned to a Scottish regiment, the Cameronians, where he was paired with Lance Corporal Jimmy Muldoon. Their unit was sent into battle on November 3, 1944, in a nighttime amphibious operation, says the BBC.

Rifleman Khan was a German Sheppard dog, trained to find explosives and was accompanied by Lance-Corporal (L/Cpl) Jimmy Muldoon. After the Second World War, Khan returned to his formar owner, Harry Railton in Surrey.
