Quechua people (/ ˈkɛtʃuə /, [7][8] US also / ˈkɛtʃwɑː /; [9] Spanish: [ˈketʃwa]) , Quichua people or Kichwa people may refer to any of the Indigenous peoples of South America who speak the Quechua languages, which originated among the Indigenous people of Peru.

Kets (Russian: кеты; Ket: кето, кет, денг) are a Yeniseian -speaking people in Siberia. During the Russian Empire, they were known as Ostyaks, without differentiating them from several other Siberian people.

Forced labor, small pox, cholera and malaria no longer kill the Quechua population. They subsist outside the modern cities in much the same fashion that their ancestors might have done without their colonial masters of the past 500 years.
