Jun 18, 2010 · The kit comes with a relay that you wire directly to the battery since the horns take more juice than the stockers. This shot shows the relay. It has four spade connectors. # 30 goes to the battery, #87 goes to the horns, #85 is the ground, and #86 ties into the wiring that was attached to your old horns.

Oct 29, 2022 · I have the hella horns (trumpet horns) and when I installed them, I gave a quick honk to check, great! Then I honked a bit longer, and one horn goes silent. Specifically, the horn on the driver side. Swapped back to stock horns, both work fine all day long. If I put a stock horn on the passenger side, hella horn on driver side, both work fine.

If you have a proper workbench with a vice then you may have better luck, but I couldn't get enough leverage to crack it. Instead, I rotated the connector 90 degrees. Jan 26, 2009 · I found several posts regarding the install on a 4.3. Use the oem location and wiring conections. Access to do the install is made easier with the removal of the black plastic dust cover and removing the bar that holds the horns. Some posts say that the grill and front bumper assembly need to be removed to install Hella horns. Not so!
