Mar 4, 2025 · "HW 99" was actually its initial name everywhere when introduced in the late 1990's, but Weihrauch chose to re-name it in honor of the original, similarly-sized, HW 50 which was going out of production at the same time after a 45+ year run.

The HW-99 may look simple on the outside, but some very sophisticated circuitry lies within the dark-brown case. A separate low-pass filter is included for each band in both receive and transmit modes, providing optimum rejection of received spurious signals and transmitted harmonics.

Dec 4, 2020 · The HW 99 is the same rifle as the HW 50. Weihrauch use to have a 25mm comp tube HW 50. When they came out with the 26mm comp tube found in the HW 50, 77, 95, 97,98; they decided to call the new HW 50 the HW 99 in the UK only.

Oct 7, 2024 · After overwhelming support in favour of Weihrauch in my last post, I'm looking forward to getting my hands on a HW for my first air rifle. However the recommendation has been put to me a few times - "get a 95 or a 99". I've been looking into both and it's clear that they are both excellent, quality rifles.

The 99 S is sometimes referred to as a lighter version of the legendary Weihrauch HW 80 break barrel springer, but weight loss is not its only desirable feature: it’s a highly capable, easy to handle full-power hunter.

Overall I give the HW-99 a good rating because AFTER all the time aligning and repairing the rig is a real joy to operate . I recommend it as a rig for a CW beginner and old timer alike AFTER it is properly aligned and working properly .

Oct 12, 2023 · In factory trim, the 99 usually has a fair bit of preload, and guide fit can be a bit variable. A decent fitting guide, coupled with the spring cut to a suitable length and the addition of a piston sleeve, will transform it.
