The ELMO-LION learning objectives are oriented towards understanding how to improve the charging of batteries and extending battery lifespan by optimizing the lithiation and de-lithiation processes to ensure ions being homogeneously distributed across the cells.

Apr 15, 2024 · Lectures focus on the materials, characterization, modeling and market of Li-ion batteries. After that, in April, topics for project work based on real cases from the industry will be available. Elmo-Lion Summer School 2024 is scheduled for August and will take place in Italy.

The FSRO provides hands on training in x-ray spectroscopy and can be an excellent channel for the doctoral students’ recruitment in ELMO-LION. Professor Huotari will provide lectures on x-ray characterization of batteries including, x-ray diffraction (XRD), x-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and x-ray Compton scattering imaging.
