Feb 3, 2023 · I owned a CV1 when it released, but sold it and my desktop about a year later when I needed to be more mobile. I've used, but not owned, the original HTC Vive, Samsung Odyssey, Quest 1, and Quest 2. So, resolution-wise, the Quest 2 is the most advanced headset I've tried.

The original Oculus Rift (AKA the CV1) was the first VR headset I ever bought myself, after first trying the PSVR at a friend's house. I remember being blown away by the feeling of being in the world of whatever game I was playing.

Aug 6, 2022 · The Rift cv1 will have a bit better PCVR performance but the Q1 is more versatile (standalone, PCVR with Link or wireless with Air Link). I’ve owned both and I think the cv1 was the better PCVR headset. Also its controllers were more robust and had much longer battery life.

Jun 16, 2022 · Oh man, I wish I could use my cv1 controllers with other headsets. They fit so nicely in my human meat hands. Now… here’s the thing… if you have the cv1 stations, you should be able to, right? But there’s no real support there, even if you’re on PC and just using the Quest 1/2 as a link/virtdesk headset.

Apr 24, 2016 · Yeah, it solved my problem. More specifically, it was detecting the sensor but refusing to acknowledge the headset's existence, even when I swapped the ports. What I did was look up my motherboard and find the drivers for the built-in USB3 ports there. I installed those over the Windows ones, and the ports started working again.

The Rift CV1 was a bold statement by an enthusiastic Oculus. The Rift S is a safe, committee designed "product". I'm not saying I agree with design decisions made on the Rift S btw. They definitely should have included the same rift cv1 headphones.

Oct 20, 2020 · As CV1 owner, I assume when I switch to inside-out tracked headset that I got some different blind spots for tracking than I got now, and possibly once in a while an occlusion issue. But controllers shaking in VR while not moving them IRL seems like something which really shouldnt happen.

Jun 13, 2022 · My good old cv1 is no longer my main ride and I now have it connected to my home office Alienware 17r4 gaming laptop (gtx1060 6Gb, 32Gb ram). It actually runs fine with the latest oculus desktop app v40 and nvidia 511.79 driver plus win10 up to date. I only use it occasionally for a bit of nostalgia. I did find the same usb2 headset connect issue.
