Engine Volkswagen BXE The 1.9-liter 8-valve VW BXE 1.9 TDI diesel engine was assembled from 2006 to 2010 and was installed on many concern models manufactured under the Volkswagen, Audi and Skoda brands.

It is a 1,9-liters-in-line engine with 4 cylinders that is used in various models of Audi, CUPRA, Seat, Skoda and VW. The 105 PS variant was first installed in the Audi A3 1.9 TDI Attraction Schrägheck in conjunction with a Manual gearbox.

Jul 13, 2019 · Generally, the BXE is a fine engine, like most PD engines. Most PD blocks will last almost forever if you take a little care of it (Regular oil topups / good oil / and not abusing the turbo) However, on the BXE and BLS engines, there is a higher risk of camshaft bearing issues.

Jul 1, 2014 · Traded my 2006 1.9 bxe engine model in a couple of months ago. 152k miles and still running fine, used no oil etc. Had the wobble on tick over virtually all 5 years I owned it but never had to change DMF or clutch.

Aug 13, 2023 · After looking on autodata, I have noticed it’s got the BXE engine. Are they really a bad engine? I’ve heard they can throw a rod out the block due to wear on the bottom end due to lack of servicing.

Feb 1, 2011 · could the fact that the BXE came with black tappets make a major difference in whether or not the swap goes smoothly? also, would the current timing belt be alright or would it need a new belt? the current one was fitted around 125,000 miles, so around 10,000 miles ago....

Jan 19, 2014 · I believe I was the victim of a common fault with the bxe engine, a seizure resulting in a conrod going through the block. I'm therefore looking to replace the engine as the condition of the car is good.
