Apr 27, 2019 · CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Bruce Foster became the first ring announcer inducted into the Carolinas Boxing Hall of Fame Friday night. Friday night he was recognized for being boxing's voice in the Carolinas. Foster credits 2016 inductee, referee Bill Clancy, for being one of his biggest supporters throughout his career in the ring.

Bruce Holmes Foster, from Raleigh, North Carolina, has worked more than 3,500 pro fights as an announcer, judge, referee, and timekeeper. Born in Vermont where he was once a police officer he has also worked for HBO, Showtime, Madison Square Garden, the IBF, WBC and just about every boxing venue in the nation.
