Oct 29, 2021 · In places like Beijing, Xi'an, and Shanghai would they have any western toilets, or are they mostly squatting toilets? Would I have to carry around a good amount of toilet paper? I just want to be prepared if I visit :)

Are the toilets at the airport "western" style? I am flying on Saturday and wonder if I should "go" before I get off the plane.

Nov 24, 2011 · Most hotels and all major airports are equipped with sitting toilets with western facilities. But in some tourist spots or remote areas, toilets are not clean and well maintained, no toilet paper, no soap or tissues to dry your hands.

Even most 3* hotels in China have Western toilets. It may sound surprising, but using squat toilets actually requires a bit of planning before you even leave your hotel/airport. Good advice is to use the bathroom before leaving the airport/hotel.

Jul 1, 2024 · To prevent passengers and people using them, instead of hiding them under a plastic folded cover, they are covered in black and yellow sticky-tape just roughly bundled onto the ground, nearby seats, and around. It looks cheap as hell in a place where they're trying to look 'civilised.' The toilets weren't bad, but weren't Japan level, either.

Oct 24, 2023 · Whether you fly into Beijing, Shanghai, or even Chengdu, you’ll be amazed at how impeccably clean the airports are. And the airport toilets are no exception. You could probably eat your lunch off the floor (okay, maybe not that clean).

I have a 7 hour layover at the Bejing airport in the middle of the night (about 2 am to 9 am). Is there a traveler's rest area - like a rent a room and shower type place? I've seen these in several airports around the world but have never been to the Bejing airport. Thanks!
