May 25, 2013 · To replace, remove the key from the fob, then stick it into the slot on the opposite side of where you replace the key back into the fob. This will "pop" open the battery compartment. Remove the old battery, install the new battery (make sure the positive side ( the + side) is up), then reinstall the back.

My wife's key fob on our 2017 X1 F48 stopped working, all the symptoms of a dead battery. However I've changed the battery and it's still not working. We can still access / start the car with her key using the old school key to get in the door, and pressing the fob against the steering column to start, but the key fob isn't syncing with the car.

May 7, 2018 · G30's and G20's do give a key fob battery warning, I believe it is like "Battery Empty". This happened in both my '22 540i and wife's '22 330ix. The key still worked when this message appeared, but the fob battery will be fully discharged pretty soon after the message starts appearing.

Oct 28, 2017 · It's one of the key fobs that the replacement key pulls out. It has a middle button with the BMW logo, a truck open button and a lock button. The videos i've watched call it comfort access, so maybe it is. It is definitely one that you can replace the battery CR2032 after pulling the key out, popping open the battery door.
