Arzit Lebnen was founded in November 1916 in Rio de Janeiro by my paternal grandfather Youssef Ayoub Hitti, and his comrade-in-arms Wadih Abboud. Its pages tell much of the state of mind and political thinking of Lebanese exiles who still didn’t know what kind of Lebanon would emerge after WWI.
