The Classic in my town used to be an independent theater, then a Starlight (IIRC) theater. Then they were bought by AMC and branded as a classic. I went there primarily before Moviepass/A-list because matinee tickets are $4.45. Because of MP/A-List I go to the much nicer theater with reclining seats et al. (just wish it had dolby).

We tried researching the different theaters but we were only able to find that Dolby is basically the best. The issue is, in our area, there isn't a theater that has Dolby. Oct 5, 2023 · Just learned from a friend the AMC 15 in Durham (formally the Carmike Wynnsong 15 to most) is officially closing soon. AMC is pulling out and not renewing their lease. This is sad for movie goers since it will only leave Southpoint and The Carolina. With The Phoenix having shuttered recently this leaves a real vacancy for mid-tier movie goers.
