Route 710, consisting of the non-contiguous segments of State Route 710 (SR 710) and Interstate 710 (I-710), is a major north–south state highway and auxiliary Interstate Highway in the Los Angeles metropolitan area of the U.S. state of California.

Nov 7, 2015 · Does anyone know the background about why the speed limit on the I-710 is only 55 mph? I assumed it had to do with the dock trucks constantly travelling the highway at 55 mph because of the speed regulators, but I regularly see 99% of everyone going 65+ mph.

Oct 30, 2013 · I noticed recently that the entire 710 freeway is now signed for 55 mph, down from 65. This is AFTER they finished installing all of the new safety improvements and interchanges. Given how fast traffic goes on that freeway, I can't imagine there's a traffic engineering study to support such a low speed limit.
