Feb 1, 2019 · The front locking lug on them is about 2mm too wide but the real issue is the rear locking lug, which after taking measurements with my micrometer and visual comparisons between AK74, Zastava 5.56, and Norinco 5.56 mag I can say that the rear locking lug on Wieger mags sits lower on the mag body than others.

Jan 17, 2019 · AR mags will only work in something that uses AK47 type magazines. Galil, Serb/Yugo, etc. Anything that uses AK74 style magazines like the Beryl, Saiga, etc would require modification to the trunnion and would probably be permanent.

Feb 21, 2010 · One is narrow and will cycle any AK74 mag without alteration! And another that has a wider bolt face, in which alteration will be necessary when using AK74 mags. Either way, you will need to pic up some .223 followers to go with whatever mags you use(Try Robarms). the stock .223 mags from K-Var will cycle in both without problems.

Jan 28, 2024 · As for the second issue, it is a more minor issue. I did look up the difference between AK 5.45/5.56 bullet guides of various origins and the galil 5.56 bullet guide. All AK bullet guides are shallower/flatter than the galil. Consequently the AK bolts have a flatter bottom than the galil bolts. Interchanging them is doable with minor modification.
