Daniel Cormier was shocked to see strawweight champion Zhang Weili an underdog vs. Tatiana Suarez at UFC 312. Weili (26-3 MMA, 10-2 UFC) proved the oddsmakers wrong after dominating Suarez (11-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) in a unanimous decision win in Saturday’s co-main event at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.

In the co-main event this past Saturday at UFC 312, the strawweight title was on the line. The champion Zhang Weili (26-3) found herself in unfamiliar territory as she was the betting underdog against challenger Tatiana Suarez (10-1).

Suarez is outstanding in takedown average, posting a 6.20 mark, to just 2.51 for Zhang. Suarez is more accurate on takedowns, too, posting a 61.36% mark, to just 46.30% for the champ. In submission average, Suarez has a 0.92-to-0.50 advantage, as well.

The co-main event of UFC 312 saw the undefeated Tatiana Suarez finally get her first shot at UFC gold against Strawweight Champion Weili Zhang.
