The San Francisco 49ers are trading wide receiver Deebo Samuel to the Commanders for a fifth-round draft pick. Samuel, who will receive $21.7M this year, is now headed to play with quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Deebo Samuel expressed gratitude to the 49ers after six seasons and ahead of next week’s official trade to the Washington Commanders.

Receiver Deebo Samuel called his departure from San Francisco "bittersweet" but said Washington was always one of his preferred destinations after requesting a trade from the 49ers in part because of quarterback Jayden Daniels.
