CMPD shoots man during traffic stop in south Charlotte
Mecklenburg Police Department shot a man early Tuesday morning.It happened around 2 a.m. at a QuikTrip on South Boulevard, CMPD said.The department said it tried to pull over a car multiple times throughout the night Monday.
‘Deadly threat’ during south Charlotte traffic stop ends with driver shot, CMPD says
An early morning traffic stop along South Boulevard turned into an officer-involved shooting when police “perceived an imminent deadly threat ,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say. The driver remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, CMPD said in a news release. The driver’s identity has not been released.

CMPD says the shooting happened near the QT gas station at the intersection of East Arrowood Road, around 2 a.m. Tuesday. Officers tried to pull the man over several times throughout the night and when he did pull over, he got out of his vehicle.
