Abbott outlined his priorities for this legislative session, including his plans for education, property taxes and water infrastructure, among other items.

Gov. Greg Abbott, speaking to a throng of more than 800 attendees at his State of the State address, unveiled school choice, property tax relief, and teacher pay raises among his seven emergency items for legislators to address immediately during the ongoing legislation session.

Those are property tax relief, investment in water infrastructure, expanding career training, cybersecurity, bail reform, teacher pay and school choice. School choice has been on the governor's wish list for some time and this could be the year it happens.
