The NFL Combine is here and it is an exciting time for young prospects. However, at around this time, the NFLPA releases their grades. These were given by the players themselves and there is so much I learned by reading all of them.
Ryan Fitzpatrick is not so sure about this year's NFLPA player survey... or at least as it pertains to the responses aimed at the New York Jets. The former quarterback noticed that the responses toward the Jets and team owner Woody Johnson were pretty harsh.
When the NFLPA released their annual report cards on teams across the NFL this week, it was not a good day to be the New York Jets... especially owner Woody Johnson. The survey is conducted with 1,695 players and it allows them to grade teams on a variety of categories.
The NFLPA issued their annual team report cards on Wednesday and the Jets finished 29th out of 32 NFL teams in the rankings. Johnson was given an F, the only owner in the NFL to be graded that low. Johnson received a B- last year. Johnson acknowledged that he needs to improve.
Regarding Johnson, the NFLPA said the players "cite perceived top leadership issues, with some describing issues as 'top-down problems.'" It notes how the Jets' ownership grade dropped from B- to F, with Johnson receiving the lowest score for contributing to a positive team culture.

Considering the head-scratching moves that the Jets' ownership has made, they have been given the lowest grade possible in the NFLPA annual report cards.
Fitzpatrick was the starting quarterback on the last Jets team to finish over .500. That year (2015), the journeyman quarterback threw a franchise record 31 touchdown passes to 15 interceptions and led New York to a 10-6 record.
Johnson's Jets are the only franchise to receive an 'F' in the ownership category for 2025, ranking just ahead of the Cardinals and Carolina Panthers, who both received a 'D-' in the survey. Here's how the NFLPA arrived at the grade, according to the report card:
