The Google Messages app now lets users send texts to themselves via RCS. The app previously restricted users to SMS when texting themselves. This means you can now send long text messages, high-quality photos/videos, and more to yourself.

Google Messages has added the ability to send RCS messages to yourself, allowing for longer reminders and the quick transfer of photos and videos between devices.

Not that I’ve ever tried this before, but Google Messages has apparently (only now) added the ability to send yourself an RCS message and it may just be one of the greatest features ever. Self-texting in high quality is here!

Data from the FCC showed that roughly 53% of the emergency centers in the U.S. support text messages as a viable form of communication. Through this 911 RCS support, Google seeks to bring it to every call center/agency across the country for free.
