In each of the large bowls place 3oz of red or blue Jello and 1 package of unflavored gelatin. Pour 1 cup of boiling water into each bowl and stir until the gelatin is completely dissolved.

Return the glasses to the refrigerator for another 2-3 hours to set. Dissolve the red Jell-O in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring until fully dissolved. Add 1 cup of cold water and mix well.
