ROME — The Vatican on Friday said Pope Francis’ health has continued to improve after his release from hospital. The 88-year-old is still receiving oxygen through a tube in his nose, but at a lower dose, a Vatican spokesman said. Francis is also having fewer problems speaking than earlier this week, the spokesman added.

The pope will be released tomorrow,” said one of the pope’s attending physicians Saturday, after Francis spent five weeks battling a severe health crisis.

Pope Francis will be discharged from hospital on Sunday and will need two months of rest at the Vatican, one of the doctors treating him says. Francis, 88, was admitted to a Rome hospital on February 14 with a severe respiratory infection that has required evolving treatment.
