Photographers throughout Aotearoa have snapped a series of stunning shots of the eerie red blood moon eclipse.

An orange or red moon outside of a lunar eclipse is often caused by pollution, such as smoke or dust. The moon will appear red during the eclipse, as sunlight is filtered through Earth's atmosphere.
