On Monday, the DWR stated in a social media post that DWR fisheries biologists were recently on the Clinch River sampling for broodstock. Broodstock are adult animals selected for breeding purposes.

The land-based aquaculture venture has raised the additional capital needed to start acclimatizing broodstock.
