Former Mayor and U.S. Congressman Sylvester Turner's funeral at The Church Without Walls will be held on Saturday, March 15, featuring a message by Pastor Ralph West and culminating more than a week of ceremonies.

During an Ash Wednesday service at the Church Without Walls in Houston, leaders honored the life and legacy of U.S. Rep. Sylvester Turner.

The congressman served as Houston mayor for eight years before he was elected to the House in November to fill the seat held by longtime Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, who died in July. Prior to becoming mayor,
