Former Seahawks and UW offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb will become the new offensive coordinator for Alabama, reuniting with Kalen DeBoer, according to multiple sources on Sunday.

Former Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has landed on his feet. Fired after his first and only year with the Seahawks (and the NFL overall), Grubb is headed to Tuscaloosa to be the offensive coordinator for the Alabama Crimson Tide.

As Alabama moved to hire DeBoer to replace Nick Saban, Grubb was lined up to be the Tide’s offensive coordinator in 2024. But days after Alabama’s staff was overhauled, Grubb was hired by new Seattle coach Mike McDaniel to be the team’s offensive coordinator.

Grubb joined the Seahawks under first-year head coach Mike Macdonald. Both rookies to their new NFL positions, and with Macdonald’s coaching background being on defense, Grubb was immediately handed play-calling duties. Grubb was also handed an extremely consistent personnel group that returned all starters at the skill positions.

Iupati has joined the Washington State Cougars’ staff to become their assistant offensive line coach. He will join first-year head coach Jimmy Rodgers, as they will seek to help the Cougars improve upon their 8-5 record from last year.

Alabama is set to hire Ryan Grubb as their new offensive coordinator, Adam Rittenberg of ESPN reports. Grubb joined Kalen DeBoer’s staff last year as the OC for just a short time before being hired by the Seattle Seahawks to serve as their OC.
