Hi there, Actually, there is hardly any real rainy periods anymore. We were in Sri Lanka during the rainy season (west coast) and had only two separate nights of rain during our holidays. Even if it rains in Gal Oya, it is mostly in the afternoon. So do your trip in the morning.

Hi, I'm not sure about a bungalow on the dam I'm afraid. Gal Oya lodge, where we stayed, is about 40 mins from the lake where you can do a boat safari. the lodge is amazing.
